Upcoming Winter Events Author: The Most Reverend Edgar M. da Cunha, S.D.V., D.D. Bishop's Blog 11 Jan 2023 Share The Peak: Planning Summit In the Diocese’s ongoing plan to provide quality faith formation, national speaker Everett Fritz, from Andrew Ministries, presented on One-to-One Discipleship at the January 7th, The Peak Planning Summit. Those in attendance received inspiring and helpful training on how to build lifelong followers of Christ. I want to extend my gratitude to the Secretariat of the New Evangelization team for putting together another wonderful diocesan event. The Peak: Planning Summit with Everett Fritz 2023 Women and Men’s Conference Registration is now open for the March 11th Fall River Diocesan Women and Men’s Conference with this year’s theme of Receive Jesus. Worship Jesus. It will be held at the Ames Sports Complex on the campus of Stonehill College, 320 Washington St., Easton, from 10 am to 5 pm. The Conference, with an early bird cost of $35 per person, includes keynote talks, breakouts in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, Eucharistic Adoration, veneration of relics of Bl. Carlo Acutis and St. Manuel Garcia, Confession, music, lunch, and more. I will celebrate a Closing Mass at 4 p.m. Please see the image below for information on our keynote presenters. After a two-year hiatus, the Conference Committee and I are eager for our Diocesan community to gather for worship, inspiration, and encouragement. Early bird registration is available here. Please consider using this opportunity to bring your parish, ministry, or family together by inviting others to join you on March 11th. Celebrating the Sacrament of Matrimony A special Mass of thanksgiving will be offered for couples observing significant wedding anniversaries (including first year). The Mass will take place on Sunday, February 12, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at St. Mary Cathedral in Fall River and will be celebrated by me. Speak to your Pastor as soon as possible, as the deadline is January 16, 2023, if you and your spouse would like an invitation to the cherished annual event. As we enter with great hope this new year, please know my prayers remain with each of you. Yours in Christ, Bishop da Cunha The Most Reverend Edgar M. da Cunha, S.D.V., D.D.
