Our Mission
Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Fall River embodies service anchored in faith—faith in God, and faith in the human spirit to overcome challenges and thrive. We foster a society that fights injustice and promotes compassion and human dignity through acts of charity, advocacy, and community solidarity.
About Us

Since 1924, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Fall River (formerly Catholic Social Services) has been the human services extension of the diocese throughout Southeastern Massachusetts, Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket. We annually support more than 30,000 households of all faiths and cultures in the Spirit of God’s universal love to advance human dignity and promote social justice in our communities.

We are committed to improving the quality of life for individuals and families by providing comprehensive services inspired by the corporal and spiritual acts of mercy. These include: basic and emergency needs; shelters and transitional housing for the unhoused; permanent supportive housing; housing counseling for foreclosure assistance and first-time home buyers; meal center and food pantry; immigration services; support for those living with disabilities; bereavement support and mental health ministry.

We exist to serve all of God’s people, regardless of religion, background, or status. We respond with caring and compassion to the basic needs of humanity as we journey together through this life, and restore their dignity to remind them that they are loved and cherished.
