FALL RIVER— Each October the Church in the United States celebrates Respect Life Month. As Catholics, we are called to cherish, defend, and protect those who are most vulnerable, from the beginning of life to its end, and at every point in between. During the month of October, the Church asks us to reflect more deeply on the dignity of every human life.

Bishop Edgar M. da Cunha, S.D.V., will celebrate a special liturgy in response to this call as part of the observance of Respect Life Month in the Fall River Diocese. This Mass will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, in St. Mary’s Cathedral in Fall River.

This Mass in celebration of Respect Life Month will be livestreamed on the diocesan Pro-Life Apostolate Facebook page.

All guidelines in place for the safe celebration of Mass during the pandemic will be followed including occupancy limits within the Cathedral to provide for social distancing. Anyone who wishes to attend this Mass in person must pre-register online at via a link on the Pro-Life Apostolate Facebook page. The link will be available here on Saturday, October 10. Seats will be allotted to those who register on a first-come, first-served basis.

This Mass is being hosted by the Fall River Diocesan Pro-Life Office, which is overseeing plans for the liturgy. Please contact Irina DeLucca that office at 508-675-1311 or by email at idelucca@dioc-fr.org with any questions.
