Pope St. Pius X Awards Ceremony to be Virtual Author: Diocese of Fall River In the News 19 Nov 2020 Share Due to the rising cases of COVID-19, the Diocese of Fall River has made the decision to cancel the in-person Pope Saint Pius X Youth Awards presentation and replace it this year with a virtual modified ceremony. Bishop Edgar M. da Cunha will bless the Pope St. Pius X Youth Award medals as planned on Tuesday, December 1, at 7 p.m. The event will now be shared online using Zoom communications video technology, and the award recipients, their families and friends, and the pastors who nominated them are invited to participate. If you wish to be part of this event, please contact the Office of Faith Formation at 508-675-1311 ext. 6702. A registration link will be provided enabling persons to join in the ceremony on December 1st. The award medals will be conferred to recipients in their own parishes at some point after the virtual ceremony. Presented for the first time in 2001, the Pope Saint Pius X Youth Award recognizes teens who serve their parish community with selflessness, commitment and dedication.
