FALL RIVER (Jan. 22, 2012) — The Fall River Diocese Office of Faith Formation has announced the Spring 2021 schedule for Adult Confirmation preparation.

Adult Catholics (ages 18 and older) who have been baptized, received First Eucharist, and are practicing their faith but have not celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation are invited to participate in the diocesan preparation program.

The program is intended to provide catechetical instruction in the faith, as well as spiritual support to compliment and support the parish in the formation of candidates, who are completing their initiation in the Catholic Church.

Interested adults must inform their pastor or a member of the parish staff in their home parish that they wish to prepare for the sacrament. Their pastor and/or parish staff member will advise them of the process for this preparation and what is required of them as a Confirmation candidate.

The preparation program in the Diocese of Fall River involves six class sessions and a retreat day. For the Spring 2021 program, class sessions will be conducted online. These sessions will take place on consecutive Thursday evenings, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., beginning February 18 and concluding on April 22.

The retreat is scheduled for Saturday, May 15, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at a location to be announced.

Bishop Edgar M. da Cunha, S.D.V., will confer the sacrament of Confirmation on adult candidates who have completed the preparation program on Thursday, May 20, at 7 p.m., in St. Mary’s Cathedral, Fall River.

Registration for the Spring 2021 Adult Confirmation program is done through one’s parish. There is a $45 registration fee to cover the cost of materials.
