St. Mary’s Cathedral Holy Week Schedule 2015 Author: Diocese of Fall River In the News 19 Mar 2015 Share HOLY WEEK SCHEDULE – 2015 The Cathedral Church of St. Mary of the Assumption 327 Second Street (at the corner of Spring Street), Fall River, Mass. PALM SUNDAY: March 28-29 Regular weekend Mass schedule in effect: Saturday Vigil at 4 p.m., and at 7 p.m. in Portuguese for the Brazilian community, and on Sunday at 10 a.m., and at 12:30 p.m. in Spanish. CHRISM MASS: March 31, 2015 Bishop Edgar M. da Cunha, S.D.V., will celebrate the Mass of Chrism at 4 p.m. with priests of the Diocese who are observing significant anniversaries of priestly ordination concelebrating. During this Mass, the bishop blesses the oils that are used in the sacramental life of the Diocese throughout the year: Oil of Catechumens, Oil of the Sick, and Chrism. Chrism – a mixture of olive oil and balsam- is used at baptism, ordination and the dedication of churches and altars. In the context of the Mass, priests of the Diocese will renew their commitment to service. WEDNESDAY: April 1, 2015 An ecumenical Tenebrae prayer service will take place at 7:30 p.m. Bishop da Cunha will preside at the service. HOLY THURSDAY: April 2, 2015 Bishop da Cunha will celebrate the Mass of the Lord’s Supper at 7:30 p.m. GOOD FRIDAY: April 3, 2015 The celebration of the Lord’s Passion will be held at 3 p.m. Bishop da Cunha will be the principal celebrant and homilist. At 6:30 p.m., Father German Correa Agudelo will lead a service for Good Friday in Spanish. HOLY SATURDAY: April 4, 2015 Bishop da Cunha will celebrate the Easter Vigil at 7:30 p.m. EASTER SUNDAY: April 5, 2015 Bishop da Cunha will celebrate Easter Mass at 10 a.m. At 12:30 p.m., Easter Mass will be celebrated in Spanish. The Easter Television Mass, to be celebrated by Bishop da Cunha, will air on WLNE-TV, Channel 6, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Easter Sunday.
