2015 Appeal Enters Homestretch Author: Diocese of Fall River In the News 22 Jun 2015 Share The 2015 Fall River Diocese Catholic Charities Appeal has entered the homestretch as its closing date of June 30th quickly approaches. Diocesan Development Director Jim Campbell reports that at this point, “Gifts and pledges are running at almost 10% ahead of last year’s pace.” Proceeds from the Catholic Charities Appeal support the charitable programs, ministries, and agencies sponsored by the Fall River Diocese throughout Southeastern Massachusetts, Cape Cod and the Islands. Campbell encourages anyone who has not yet made a donation to do so before the closing date. “We are hopeful that the spirit of generosity that defines our diocese will continue for the last days of our annual appeal,” he said recently. Many parishes throughout the Fall River Diocese are using these last weeks of the Appeal to redouble efforts to reach out to prospective donors, pointing out how many Appeal-funded services help those in need within their own local communities. “The work done in the parishes in soliciting parishioners and friends for the poor in Southeastern Massachusetts, the Cape, and the Islands is the crux of the Appeal,” Campbell explained.” “I am heartened by the energy and dedication of so many in each parish. The feedback we have received to date is very encouraging, and it seems to me that our faithful exemplify the theme of this year’s Appeal, ‘It’s What We Do.'” Contributions to the Appeal can be sent to the Catholic Charities Appeal Office, P.O. Box 1470, Fall River, Mass. 02722; dropped off at any parish in the Diocese of Fall River, or made on the Appeal website: www.frdioc-catholiccharities.org.
