Message from the Office of Safe Environment Author: The Most Reverend Edgar M. da Cunha, S.D.V., D.D. In the News 2 Apr 2020 Share OFFICE OF SAFE ENVIRONMENT DIOCESE OF FALL RIVER To the Diocese of Fall River Community, As we adapt to a new normal, one that none of us could have foreseen, we know many of you are thinking of creative ways to use technology to continue to connect with the youth in your programs. Many are seeking a connection and any professional and pastoral effort you make will certainly be appreciated. As we navigate these unchartered waters, please know the Office of Safe Environment is here to help. We are still able to access our databases remotely to confirm that individuals are compliant. If you have any questions that need to be answered, including CORI, SORI and training questions, we are available as usual. We also want to remind you that if you are using online platforms like Zoom or others to connect with the youth in your programs, it is helpful to think of those encounters as in-person encounters in terms of Safe Environment. All interactions with youth in these forums must be compliant with all diocesan policies, especially the policies of the Office of Safe Environment. Parents must also be informed about plans for online interactions. Thank you for your participation in keeping every environment safe. Please let us know if we can be of any help. Stay safe and healthy as we all pray for a swift end to this pandemic. Email: OSEChancery@dioc-fr.org or call 508-675-1311, ext. 6513.
